Caliente, the Spanish word for "hot”, evokes heat, passion, spice, and boldness. It's the perfect word to describe the girl who wears my designs. At the same time, it sometimes stands in contrast to the clothing itself, which, with its quirky details, playful colors and prints, can sometimes appear as something more girly.

But I love contrast, in color, in time, in music, in personalities. That’s the essence of Caliente: a celebration of contrasts and the unexpected magic they bring to life.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of a world that looks exactly like the one I imagine in my head. Reality doesn't always allow that, but I’ve learned there are tools that can bring us closer to that dreamlike life. Music, believing in your own truth, surrounding yourself with the right people and perhaps most visually powerful of all: the way you dress.

Clothing can transport you. It can place you inside the dream you want to live. Caliente is my translation of that dream, a world full of color and prints that make everyday life feel just a little more magical. As I recently read in a book:

"It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting."
